{"id":2797,"date":"2022-05-08T13:58:30","date_gmt":"2022-05-08T13:58:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.shaunspools.co.za\/?p=2797"},"modified":"2022-06-06T15:43:59","modified_gmt":"2022-06-06T15:43:59","slug":"advantages-of-a-pool-cover","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.shaunspools.co.za\/?p=2797","title":{"rendered":"ADVANTAGES OF A POOL COVER"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Temperature increase<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u2022 In some cases a cover can increase the temperature of a pool as much as 4 degrees<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u2022 This is a significant saving of money and energy when compared with generating the same increase via gas or electric heaters.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u2022 The more direct sunlight your pool gets the more temperature benefit it can offer.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Reduced consumption of chlorine<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u2022 Chlorine is the most common water sanitiser, but it degrades under UV light.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u2022 Covers reduce the amount of UV hitting the water meaning you don\u2019t consume as much.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u2022 If you have a salt water pool this means your chlorinator uses less energy.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u2022 If you use liquid chlorine it means you will consume significantly less, saving you time refilling and money buying.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Reduced evaporation<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u2022 Water loss due to evaporation is substantial. A pool cover virtually eliminates evaporation if kept on when the pool is not in use.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u2022 If the water level drops below the height of the skimmers due to evaporation and your pumps suck in air you will quickly damage them. A cover stops this from happening.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u2022 You will no longer have the chore of putting the hose in the pool to top up the water level.
